Instructor Bio
Keith Worfel began his self defense training career in 1995, and steadily progressed through unyielding dedication and determination. He humbly accepted the honor of becoming an internationally certified Master Instructor in the Chinese martial art of Wing Chun Gung Fu in 1998, and has been teaching martial arts and self defense ever since. Keith moved to the Denver area in 2000, and founded the Traditional Wing Chun Gung Fu Foundation LLC, parent company to two divisions: Wing Chun Denver and the Self Defense Training Institute.
Originally from Syracuse, NY, Keith has lived in Florida, Arizona, & Beijing, China, and has been residing and teaching in the Denver metro area since 2000. His travels have led him to encounter many wonderful experiences throughout dozens of countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and Australia. His most rewarding experience has come from visiting and living in the People’s Republic of China and Hong Kong. Keith had the incredible opportunity to learn about Chinese culture and language as he encountered many facets of life in Beijing, Hong Kong, Guangzhou (Canton), Shanghai, the Shaolin Temple, and dozens of other cities and sites throughout China.
Unquestionably, the highlight of all his international travels is the multiple training expeditions he has taken to Hong Kong to receive personalized training from his teachers: Master Ron Heimberger and Grandmaster Ip Ching (son of Bruce Lee's legendary teacher, Ip Man).
Keith is currently a Captain for an air ambulance organization based in Denver. When not flying, Keith dedicates his time to his enduring passion for Wing Chun Gung Fu and for the general welfare and personal safety education of the community, through the SDTI’s unarmed & armed training, and Keith’s many Advanced NRA Firearms Instructor & Range Safety Certifications.
